Tasmania is getting ready to open its 2026–27 Skilled Migration State Nomination Program, with the first weekly invitation round commencing shortly afterwards.

📅 Registrations of Interest (ROIs) open: 17 August 2026

📨 Weekly invitations commence: 20 August 2026

Tasmania has been allocated 2,050 skilled nomination places for 2026–27:

🔹 Subclass 190 — 1,250 places

🔹 Subclass 491 — 800 places

There are also some important changes this year. Tasmania has revised its priority attributes and scoring system, including changes relating to Tasmanian employment, income and the TSE Gold priority attribute.

⚠️ 𝐀𝐋𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐘 𝐇𝐀𝐕𝐄 𝐀 𝐓𝐀𝐒𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐀 𝐑𝐎𝐈?

Migration Tasmania has specifically advised that candidates who submitted an ROI within the previous six months may wish to consider withdrawing and submitting a new ROI, as the revised priority attributes may result in a higher score.

🌏 𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐓 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐄 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐎𝐅𝐅𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐑𝐄 𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐒

Tasmania has also confirmed that it does not plan to issue invitations through the Subclass 491 Overseas Skilled Occupation Profiles invitation-only pathway during 2026–27.

Eligible offshore candidates in certain health and education occupations with qualifying Tasmanian employment offers may still have access to Tasmania's separate Subclass 190 pathway.

📊 Tasmania will also publish weekly invitation data, including invitation numbers, lowest scores invited, ROIs on hand and remaining nomination places.
