Tasmania Skilled Migration 2026: New Subclass 190 and 491 Invitations Issued
Tasmania skilled migration 2026 continues to be active, with a new invitation round issued for the Subclass 190 Skilled Nominated visa and Subclass 491 Skilled Work Regional visa.
On 3 September 2026, Migration Tasmania issued 34 Subclass 190 invitations and 25 Subclass 491 invitations, with lower Tasmanian ROI scores invited compared with the previous round.
Of the 34 Subclass 190 invitations, 21 were issued to Gold priority candidates and 13 to Green priority candidates.

The lowest Tasmanian ROI score invited for Subclass 190 fell from 544 on 20 August 2026 to 519 on 3 September 2026. For Subclass 491, the lowest ROI score invited fell from 91 to 82. The latest Tasmania skilled migration 2026 results may therefore be encouraging for candidates who meet the State's nomination requirements but do not fall within the highest Gold priority category.
This is significant because Migration Tasmania has indicated that the number of Gold Subclass 190 candidates is declining, allowing more non-Gold candidates to receive invitations. Tasmania expects this trend to continue in coming invitation rounds.
What Is a Tasmania ROI Score?
An important part of understanding Tasmania skilled migration 2026 is the distinction between Tasmania's Registration of Interest (ROI) ranking system and the Commonwealth SkillSelect points test. The 519 score is not a SkillSelect points score. 908 Subclass 190 ROIs on hand; and
592 Subclass 491 ROIs on hand.
These figures show that the Tasmania state nomination program remains active and further invitations are expected. Applicants should not assume that a particular ROI score guarantees an invitation.
