UN Sanctions placed on Iranian and Syrian Students

Immigration Law Matters has been informed that some Australian Universities are no longer accepting new enrollments for Iranian and Syrian Nations. We have been told that this measure is temporary. Immigration Law Matters have voiced their concerns regarding these sanctions and hope to see these sanctions lifted as soon as possible.

Below is part of the information we received explaining the sanctions from a leading Australian University:

“Unfortunately, we are unable to process new applications, deferrals and change of program requests for students with Iranian and Syrian citizenship at this time due to Sanctions regulations. In addition to this any offers for Semester 2 2013 onwards, for students with Iranian and Syrian citizenship, will be withdrawn.”

If you are an Iranian or Syrian national and wanting to migrate to Australia or to seek further stay in Australia please contact our firm to discuss other migrations options which may be available for you.
